KYIV, July 28 /Ukrinform/. Ukrainian government troops have entered Shakhtarsk, Debaltseve, Torez and Lutuhyne.
Spokesman for the information and analytical center of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"The anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces have taken control of the town of Debaltseve in Donetsk region and the Savur-Mohyla heights, from which illegal armed groups constantly shelled the positions of Ukrainian law enforcers", Lysenko reported on Monday, July 28.
"Our troops entered Shakhtarsk, Torez and Lutuhyne," he said.
The fighting is also underway for the complete liberation of Pervomaisk and Snizhne, he added.
Gunfire at positions of the Ukrainian forces near the village of Marynivka in the Shakhtarsk district of the Donetsk region continued overnight into Wednesday, July 16, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said in a statement posted on its Web site.
Ukrainian government forces are continuing the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) on the full liberation of the town of Lutuhyne in Luhansk region, as well as Shakhtarsk and Torez in Donetsk region, on Monday, July 28, expanding the zone controlled by the ATO forces near the town of Horlivka (Donetsk region), the leader of the Information Resistance group (sprotyv.info), Dmytro Tymchuk, has reported.
