ZIK: 22. September 2014

According to the Ukrainian media, more than 100 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed near the town of Ilovaysk, after fierce battle with Russian forces which led to encirclement.

No matter how humiliating the law on Donbas special status is it can stop the war in the east, renowned political and public leader Ihor Yukhnovsky told, speaking on ZIK TV late Sept. 21.

After the crushing defeat at Ilovaysk we lost the war in Donbas, Yuknovsky said, speaking to ZIK Sept. 21.

He called the law on Donbas special status humiliating and rife with numerous threats for Ukraine.
The major threat relates to the Ukrainian language. In any country, basic education should be conducted in the state language, he said.
“However, taking into account the brazen attitude of the separatists, I am sure the Ukrainian will be suppressed,” he said.

Despite the critical attitude of Ukrainians to the special status law, Academician Yukhnovsky urged Ukrainians to rally behind the government.
At the time of a war, there is no other way.  It would be stupid to vent one’s anger. The law is humiliating but it can stop the war,” I. Yukhnovsky stressed.
