Tightening of the existing sanctions will affect Russia in the medium term while Ukraine is defending its territory today.
This was stated by Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinfrom.
He called on Germany, the main party in talks with Russia, to offer a plan to address the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel listens to the debate about the situation in the Ukraine and possible reactions of the European Union at the parliament of Germany.
"There are talks of strengthening the existing sanctions but I do not have excessive hopes that they will be effective, because the sanctions will affect Russia in the medium term while Ukraine is fighting today. Thus we demand that those who took on the burden of responsibility for negotiations with Russia, mainly Germany to offer - how are they going to resolve this conflict," Sikorski said.
