Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko (L) speaking to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during a meeting in Kyiv on Dec. 21, 2014.
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said that the main task of the new Belarusian government should be export diversification to avoid excessive dependence on the Russian market, reports Radio Svoboda.
"Export diversification is one of the government's priorities in the current circumstances," Alexander Lukashenko said introducing new Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov.
"One cannot be dependent on only one or one and a half markets. The Russians indeed are our brothers, our friends, but you can see how they behave sometimes - one of them gets one's own way, and the other one does not even know what the first is doing. So we need to ensure diversification whatever it takes. No offense, but those responsible will be called to task."
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in the New Year night reminded the people of Belarus of the value of peace and wished Ukraine to go back to peaceful life as soon as possible.
