State company Ukroboronprom plans to increase production of Ukrainian tanks by 24 times, from five to 120 units per year.
As reported UNIAN, this was announced by the company's general director Roman Romanov.
For 2015, the plan is to increase production of basic fighting units Oplot to 40 pieces; starting with 2016, the company will produce 100-120 units yearly.
Besides, the enterprises of Ukroboronprom will set production chain to produce armored vehicles Dozor, which have never been in the Ukrainian army' inventory before. This year, the company plans to produce up to 50 units, and to subsequently increase the yearly number to at least 100.
The company's experts also intend to start research and development for production of Ukrainian drones and counter-battery fire systems. By 2016, the first 3-coordinate radar locator will be produced.
A special quality control group already operates within Ukroboronprom. It will check each unit before sending it to the front line.
