Ukraine calls on the EU to hold an urgent session of the European Council on August 30 in order to impose new sanctions against Russia and rendering of a large-scale military and military-technical assistance to Ukrainian side to oppose direct military aggression from Russia.
Representative of Ukraine to the European Union Konstantin Eliseev stated this in the comment released on Thursday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinfrom.
"Ukraine and the European Union should stop this war. We urge the European Council to carry out the extraordinary session on the situation in Ukraine on August 30. Enough acquiescence and placations for the aggressor! Solidarity must be absolute and unequivocal. It should materialize in the next decisive and significant sanctions as well as large-scale military and military-technical assistance to Ukraine to stop the aggressor," the Ambassador of Ukraine to the EU said.
Eliseev is convinced that the time when action must replace words has come.
The Ambassador has reminded that the EU Council has adopted 11 conclusions on Ukraine and the European Parliament has adopted 4 resolutions urging Russia to respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's military aggression on February 11.
"Was not it enough to understand that words mean nothing for the Kremlin?" Konstiantyn Eliseev asked the European partners.
