Ukrainian security forces liberated Zhdanivka in Donetsk region, Khryashchuvate in Luhansk region and entered city of Luhansk

Ukrainian troops liberated Zhdanivka (13,600), near Yanukovych's hometown of Yenakiyevo, Donetsk region, is under Kyiv control. Ukrainian flag hoisted over local city council. 
Since both cities Donetsk and Horlivka are besidged from early days of August, Zhdanivka become strategically very important because lying just in the middle of road communication Donetsk and Shakhtarsk to Horlivka, posed a lifeline for pro Russian insurgents still based in Horlivka and Yenakiyevo.

Ukrainian security forces entered Luhansk last night,and combat with seperatists iz now happenig inside the city. This morning ATO forces enterd Luhansk's Zhovtnevy district and rise Ukrainian flag over a city district police station.

On August 15 Ukrainian ATO forces from "Aydar" battalion also liberated the town of Khryashchuvate, Luhansk region. According to last census town has some 2000 inhabitants.  It lyies on main Luhansk's highway comunication with Russian nearby border region cities: (Russian) Donetsk, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky and Novoshakhtinsk During fierce fighting battalion lost 5 man, and 15 are injured.

ATO forces foil plan by terrorists to take control of important highways




/Ukrinform/. Fierce fighting is going on in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine for control of strategically important highways - M04 and H21. Ukrainian subdivisions thwarted attempts by militants to regain control of their supply routes.
Director of the Center for Military and Political Studies and coordinator of the Information Resistance group Dmytro Tymchuk reported this on his Facebook page.
"Militants, using their reserves that include heavy armor and acting from the settlement of Molodohvardiysk, tried to regain their lost positions on the Novosvitlivka-Khriashchuvate route, but unsuccessfully," the expert said.
The ATO forces strengthened their positions in this area, ensuring control over the M04 highway and exit to the south suburbs of Lugansk. This maneuver is aimed at unblocking the Luhansk airport, where Ukrainian units are holding the line.

At the same time, the fighting continued near Luhansk, where the ATO forces took favorable positions to liberate the city.

It has been reported that some 300 separatists still present in Luhansk,are taking off uniforms and LNR flags and plan to escape the city as civilians refugees.
Ukrainian ATO forces Command Center also issued a statement that according to current information, the bulk of militants planning to leave the Donetsk region before 18 August
